Casey's old design! Casey used to be more genderfluid-leaning, but I changed him to be just trans-masc in the end (just how the cards fell I guess). Also, this version of Casey still had his wings. I developed the loss of Casey's wings a little later, so in many early sketches he still has wings.

Bryz's first design has many similarities with her canon design, but the most notable changes are probably her necklace and the face mask. Originally, Bryz was going to be a germaphobe, but once I developed the idea of the plot I decided to scrap it. (It didn't really fit her personality anymore, anyways.)

This is the first sketch I ever made of Casey and Bryz together! It was around Halloween, and I wanted to make a couple that had some Halloween inspiration (hence why their colors are purple and orange and Casey is a bat). This was when I updated Bryz's pendant to be a choker, but she keeps the mask for a bit. At this point, the plot was largely just a romance, and it would follow C+B falling in love... I eventually changed the plot to be more of a fantasy with their romance already established. The story of how they met and grew to love each other is still very much on the table for me to write, though!
